Girls und Panzer (GuP)

Back at the end of April 2023 Youtube threw a Girls Und Panzer (GuP) clip into my feed.  I'd never heard of the decade old anime so I proceeded to spend an enjoyable afternoon learning about the GuP setting and wondering if and how it had been used as a setting for tabletop gaming.  Always late to the party, I learned there were hobbyists who'd blazed that trail already to one extent or another.  They confirmed my suspicion that 15mm tanks would allow for the number and variety of tanks needed to be able to play versions of the battles shown in the episodes and films.

It took me two months to finally see the original TV series, the first six OVA episodes and the Das Finale Part 1, 2 and 3 films on HiDive.  I very much enjoyed them despite having ruined most of the plot through trying to learn more about GuP.  I'm still need to find a way to watch the first film, the remaining OVA episodes and the This is the Real Anzio Battle episode/OVA/short film.  I also need to decide if I'm going to get or at least try to read the different manga released for GuP.   The Ribbon Warrior series focused on Tankathon is the most appealing one given the twist it puts on the traditional Sensha-dō battles.  It is not available in English that I can find nor does it seem to have a Kindle or other e-reader version so I'll have to decide if/when to try and buy the series.  There's enough information in the wiki that I could try to game Tankathon without knowing the story.

Lots of potential hobby planning, buying and modeling ahead.

Nas Slorac Dome - Locals

Rogue Doctor - Limp O’Cyte:

"The good doctor…”Saint Cecily” they murmur when she moves among the throngs clamoring for care, speaking softly into the cogitator on her wrist of symptoms and serums…"

"I started the 'Saint' rumor many cycles ago after she staved off the Rust Lung infestation I so carefully crafted hoping that glory might bring low what pox and plague have not…"

“That damnable hat!  Her sense of style...that lilting laugh when the streetlings bring her bits of debris and trash as tokens of their affection and respect.  Those moments are powerful beyond reckoning and yet she just gives them away by the dozen without a care in a world that is fraught with concern and saturated in fear…”

“I’ve finally got her...ohhh yes, she will finally be seen for the grave danger that she is to the common order and be dealt with like every other threat...the sealed dome...the water and power obviously stolen to grow plants, of all things, which she then feeds to the sick and the well alike! ‘Spynotch’, ‘Arrrghgula’, ‘Ka le’, the last, of course, a derivative name for an ancient Terran death goddess no less. Thief! Poisoner! Disrupter of the Quota! The guilds will line up to destroy her if agents of the House of Blades, the Mechanicus or House Helmawr do not beat them to it! Ohhh she is well and truly done for this time.

"Shall I leak our findings through our typical proxies or anonymously alert the authorities…neither!  I shall make the complaint myself!"

“My presence is requested to receive an award? No? Ahhh a commendation then…"

Rogue Doctor - Cecily Helios:

"Heal the sick. Care for all." It is as simple as that. Words often mocked by O'Cyte and countless others all eager to prove my compassion a waste. They are free to feel and do as they wish as much as any of us truly are free down down deep in the dark.

"O'Cyte thinks he has one on me having discovered the abandoned agricultural dome I've been using to grow vegetables and herbs. Guilder Kums challenged me to improve the productivity of his workforce and I have. There is less illness amongst his factorum workers and their productivity is up. He says he has a surprise for me but I am wary of anyone so indebted to the the status quo."

April 2022 Modeling

April modeling consisted of just these two pieces of terrain.  First ones with posters ever so that's a small milestone.  A death in the family and a busy work month meant that the bulk of my time was spent focused on other matters.
